FAMU Extends Its Streak Against A&T
TALLAHASEE, Fla. - North Carolina A&T finished its Florida road trip with a 3-0 (25-9, 14, 21) loss to Florida A&M Sunday afternoon at the Al Lawson Center. Devonte' Reese led the Aggies with five kills and three digs.
After the Rattlers won the first two sets, the Aggies gave them a challenge in the third. The Rattlers took a 21-19 lead on a Maria Ceccarelli kill. Aggies coach Hal Clifton took a timeout to slow down the Rattlers momentum.
The Aggies cut the lead to one on a ball handling error by Marija Jovanovic. FAMU responded by getting kills from Ceccarelli and Katherine Huanec to take a 23-20 lead. Sophomore Jeana Daniels, the Aggies leader in kills per game, put down another attack to keep the Aggies in the set. But FAMU closed out the set and the match with two consecutive kills to earn their 28th straight win over N.C. A&T.
The Aggies are back in action Friday night when they host defending MEAC Champion S.C. State at 6 p.m., at Corbett Sports Center.
