GREENSBORO - North Carolina A&T sophomore forward Tiffanie Adair garnered MEAC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week honors for her performance from Jan. 9-15.
She joins freshman forward Jaylan Bodiford as the second Aggie to be selected as the MEAC Rookie of the Week this season. Junior JaQuayla Berry was also named in the MEAC other top performers selection this week. Sophomore guard Tracy King has been named Defensive Player of the Week twice this year.
Adair, who is in her first year playing with the Aggies, tallied 20 points, 12 rebounds, two assists and one steal for the Aggies this past week. On Saturday at Howard, the Duncan, S.C., native, scored a season-high 12 points and six rebounds. She was 5-for-7 shooting from the floor, and tallied a season-high two assists in 31 minutes of action. She hit all four of her shot attempts in the team's two-point loss to Florida A&M at Corbett Sports Center on Monday, Jan. 9.
Against the Bison, Adair made her first career start. She has scored in double figures three times this season, and holds the highest scoring and rebounding average among all A&T first-year players this season at 3.6 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.
