21 Dylan Hipp

Hipp looks to  add to the team’s depth in the outfield this season…Has a career .208 average with three doubles, a triple, 16 RBI and 19 stolen bases in 53 games played…Also has four career appearances as a pitcher with an 0-1 record and 4.2 innings…Named to 2012 Fall Dean’s List and MEAC All-Academic Team.

2013 Season: Competed in 35 games and started 30 as an outfielder… Made one pitching appearance…Finished the season with a .214 average, three doubles, a triple, 15 RBI and 27 runs scored…Recorded 19 walks and 26 strikeouts…Went 17-for-17 in stolen bases, tied for second on the team in stolen bases with Luke Tendler…Tossed a perfect inning in relief on March 8 against Binghamton…Batted 2-for-4 with two RBI and two stolen bases on March 16 against Bethune-Cookman…Finished 3-for-5 with a triple, two RBI, a season-best three stolen bases and four runs scored on March 31 at Florida A&M…Against N.C. Central on April 6, he recorded a season-best four RBI…Posted a season-long five-game hitting streak from March 9-18, batting .375 in that span…Had four multi-hit games and five multi-RBI games.

2012 Season:  Made six starts and 14 appearances as a position player and three appearances as a left-handed pitcher…Finished the year with a .182 average (4-for-22) in 14 games…Walked five times, had an RBI and scored five runs…Posted a season-long two-game hitting streak from Feb. 25-26…Made his A&T debut on Feb. 18, going 0-for-1 as a pinch-hitter…Went 1-for-2 with an RBI, a walk and a run scored on Feb. 21 at Elon…Collected four hits and an RBI in his first nine games with the Aggies…Went 0-for-0 with a walk and a run scored on May 12 at Florida A&M, helping the Aggies to earn their first series sweep of the year…Made three appearances on the mound in relief...Tossed 1.2 hitless, scoreless innings on April 14 at N.C. Central…Tossed a season-high 2.0 innings on May 2 at Liberty…Allowed four runs on four hits in 3.2 innings as a pitcher for a 1-0 record and 9.82 ERA.

High School: Competed in varsity baseball in three seasons at RS Central High…Earned all-conference honors as a junior and senior…Won the Fireman’s Award and MVP award as a junior…Also named to the Easter Tournament All-Tournament team as a junior…Competed in varsity baseball for three seasons.

Personal: Full name is Dylan Christopher Hipp…He is the son of George and Barbara Hipp…Has two siblings, Jaryt and Cori… He was born on Nov. 12, 1992…His major is psychology …Plans to pursue a career as a psychologist…His other interests include being out in the woods and working on cars…His favorite television show is “Family Guy” and chicken is his favorite food.
