Veteran outfielder that gets a good jump on the ball … Has a strong arm and throws on target … Hits for power and is a solid batter when she remains consistent … Is a former All-MEAC performer and has been a member of All-Academic teams, including the MEAC, NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) and an A&T scholar…She is a career .275 hitter with 10 home runs, 49 RBI, 17 doubles and one triple…Also has a career .426 slugging percentage with 33 walks and 78 total bases.

2014 Season: Played in 33 games with 29 starts … Batted .200 along with 16 hits, nine runs scored, three doubles and five RBI … Hit .346 in conference games … Recorded three multi-hit games … Was 3-for-3 at Florida A&M on April 5 with a double … Had a wonderful three-game series against S.C. State March 30-31 when she went 4-for-10 with two runs scored and an RBI as she raised her batting average by 71 points… Finished with a season-high two RBI at Elon on April 1 … Was on a five-game hitting streak from March 30-April 5 where she was 9-for-19 at the plate over that span… Finished with a .980 fielding percentage in the outfield.

2013 Season: Played in 39 games with 38 starts… Was named first-team All-MEAC … Batted .310 and led the Aggies in home runs with seven … Also recorded 31 hits, 23 RBI, and scored 17 runs …Tallied eight multiple-hit games … Was 4-for-4  with a home run against UNC Greensboro on March 21 … Hit a three-run homer in an 11-10 win over UMES on Feb. 24 … Also hit home runs against Kent State on March 8, Norfolk State on March 13, Savannah State on April 13, B-CU on April 20 and Appalachian State on April 24 … Finished with a season-high four RBI against B-CU on April 20 … Finished with a .947 fielding percentage in the outfield.

2012 Season: Started in all 51 appearances as a freshman…Hit .292 (42-for-144) with nine doubles, three home runs, 21 RBI and 16 runs scored …Posted a .923 fielding percentage…Posted three hits against Liberty on April 10…Had two walks against Hampton on March 11…Went 4-for-4 with two RBI on March 14 against Norfolk State…Went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and a run scored on March 18 against Morgan State in Game 2 of a double header…Tallied three RBI with a double on March 31 against S.C. State…Went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and three runs scored in Game 2 at Liberty on April 10…Went 3-for-4 with a double and a home run and three RBI on April 28 at Presbyterian College.

High School: Competed at the varsity level for three seasons at Garner Magnet High School… Was named to all-conference teams in 2010 and 2011…Earned All-Academic honors from 2009-11 Was the Player of the Year in 2011 as a senior…Graduated with distinguished honors.

Personal: Full name is Raven Nicole Smith…She is the daughter of Sonya Goolsby and Anthony Smith…Has two siblings, Ryan  and Jamiyah…Was born on Sept. 3, 1993…Majors in nursing…Plans to be on an island working in a field of her choice after graduation …Her other interests include shopping and hanging out with friends…Her favorite television show is “Law & Order: SVU” and her favorite food is pasta…Says the best part of being an A&T student-athlete is the support from coaches and other athletes…Her goals for the season are to have a higher batting average, to strike out less and to have a higher fielding percentage.
