Adair continues to make a case for earning MEAC Rookie of the Year honors in
women's basketball. The North Carolina
A&T sophomore forward was selected as the MEAC Rookie of the Week for the
fifth time in six weeks, and for the third time in a row. Adair, who is in her
first year playing with the Aggies, had another strong week. She averaged 13
points and 12 rebounds for the week of Feb. 13-19. She also won the Rookie of
the Week award for her contributions from Jan. 9-15, Jan. 16-22, Jan. 30-Feb. 5
and Feb. 6-12.
She
led A&T with 14 points and 14 rebounds in a win over Savannah State on Feb.
13. She went 10-for-15 from the free
throw line against the Tigers. In the
Aggies' victory over archrival N.C. Central on Feb. 18, she posted her third
straight double-double and fifth of the year with 12 points and 10
rebounds. Adair also had a pair of
blocks against the Eagles, and was 6-for-10 from the floor.
In
the last 10 games - all starts - she has totaled 142 points and 101
rebounds. She's shooting .602 in
conference games - first among all MEAC players - and is averaging 11.8 points
and 8.5 rebounds in conference games. She holds the highest scoring average and
rebounding average among all A&T first-year players this season at 7.3
points and 6.2 rebounds per game.
