The Bibbs Upsets

Nov. 22, 1986: Bibbs led her Grambling team to a 92-90 double overtime win over the Big 8's Texas A&M Aggies. A week later Bibbs' Grambling team lost to Miami 67-65.

Dec. 6, 1987: While with Grambling, Bibbs' team defeated Big 8 opponent Oklahoma State 98-92 in double overtime.

Dec. 1, 1988: Bibbs led the Grambling Tigers to a 73-72 win over the New Mexico State Aggies in Las Cruces.

Nov. 30, 1989: Grambling defeated Big 8 opponent Texas Tech 74-67 in Lubbock, Texas. In same tournament, the Tigers defeated Oregon 81-63.

Dec. 27, 1990: Bibbs led the Tigers to a 73-54 win over Big East foe Syracuse in Syracuse.

Nov. 16, 1994: To start the 1994-95 season, Bibbs and Grambling defeated SEC opponent Mississippi State 112-91. During the same season, Bibbs led the Tigers to wins over Oklahoma State, Xavier (Ohio), Rice and Miami.

Dec. 28, 1996: The Tigers travel to Texas Christian and defeated the Horned Frogs 98-92.

March 17, 1994: Grambling gave No. 2 seed Vanderbilt a tough time before losing to the Commodores 95-85 in Bibbs' first coached NCAA game.

Nov. 24, 1998: As the head women's basketball coach at Hampton, Bibbs traveled to College Park, Md., and knocked off ACC foe Maryland 76-57.

Nov. 23, 2001: Bibbs and her Hampton Pirates went to Lawrence, Kan., and defeated the Kansas Jayhawks 67-63.

Nov. 22, 2002: Bibbs defeated Southern Mississippi 48-47 while coaching at Hampton University.

Nov. 18, 1997: Bibbs coached her first game as the head women's basketball coach at Hampton University. The Pirates lost to East Carolina 59-58 in Greenville, N.C. A week later, Bibbs earned her first win as the Pirates head coach with a 76-74 win over Richmond.

November 29, 2008: Brittanie Taylor-James went 10-for-10 from the free throw line and scored 28 points to lead the Aggies to a 72-53 win at East Carolina of Conference USA.

January 5, 2009: Amber Bland posted 26 points and had 10 rebounds on 10-for-17 shooting to lead the Agg ies to one of the biggest upsets in school history, an 87-80 win over Charlotte. Charlotte came into the game ranked 34th in the RPI.

March 18, 2010: In what was an uplifting moment for North Carolina A&T State University, the Aggies traveled to Winston-Salem, N.C., and blew out Wake Forest of the ACC 72-53 in the first round of the WNIT. It marked the first time in school history the Aggies defeated an ACC school.

March 21, 2010: N.C. A&T continued to make Aggies proud as they defeated Charlotte 79-70 in the second round of the WNIT. The Aggies became the first HBCU to win two consecutive games in an NCAA sanctioned postseason tournament.

November 21, 2011: Tracy King scored 26 points and Amber Calvin had 18 points as the Aggies defeated visiting Clemson 76-66 at Corbett Sports Center. It was the second time Bibbs defeated an ACC school while coaching at North Carolina A&T.
