GREENSBORO  -- The North Carolina A&T cross country team had five runners named to the 2012 MEAC Men's and Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team on Thursday afternoon. 

Sophomore men Christian Harrison, Saeed Jones and Omozokpia Olumese, and female seniors Ariana Betts and Kristin Rush performed well enough in the classroom to earn recognition. To earn MEAC All-Academic team honors, student-athletes must have a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average, hold sophomore to senior class status and or have studied and competed at the institution for at least one year.

A total of 92 student-athletes from the conference's 13 member institutions were named to the team for maintaining a 3.0 or better GPA in the 2011-12 school year.
