--The Aggies played in six five-set matches this fall, more
than in the last three years combined and the most since they played six in
2005.
--The Aggies avoided being swept in 19 of their 32 matches
this season. In 2011, the Aggies were
swept in all but two of their 27 losses.
--Six players recorded more than 100 kills in 2012. Freshman
Brooke Stamnes (289), freshman Aleena McDaniel (196), senior Andrea Evans
(185), sophomore Aprill McRae (138), junior Jeana Daniels (125) and freshman
Te'Borah Hawkins-Hollingsworth (108) all passed the century mark, marking the
first time that many players reached that plateau since 2007.
--Freshman outside hitter Brooke Stamnes ended the year with
272 digs, becoming the first player to record more than 200 kills and 200 digs
since 2009.
--Brooke Stamnes was ranked 11th in the nation
for aces per set (0.46), while Aleena McDaniel was ranked 67th. Ashley Johnson was among the top 250 players
in the nation for most digs per set.
--Johnson is the first A&T player to earn first-team All-MEAC
honors since current A&T assistant coach Arlene Mitchell did so in
2006. She is the first player to be
named to either All-MEAC team since Avignon Williams in 2007.
-- A freshman led the team in kills (Brooke Stamnes-289),
service aces (Brooke Stamnes-54), digs (Ashley Johnson-461), and in points
(Brooke Stamnes-357.0).
