 Jayla Scott

Will look to compete for the Aggies in the No. 5 singles spot, and to team with senior Cayla Cross for the No. 1 doubles team...At the 12th Annual HBCU Tennis Championships in September, Scott made it to the semifinal round of the B Division, falling to the eventual champion, the No. 2 seeded Shereen Peterson-Paul of Bethune-Cookman...Also picked up a singles win at the Elon Fall Invitational...Also competed in the USTA/ITA Carolina Regional Championships in October...Her strength is her ground stroke work according to head coach James Dunwoody.    

High School: Attended the Academy of Richmond County High School where she played varsity tennis all four years...Earned three MVP awards for tennis and was an All-Region player...Also played varsity softball and was a team MVP for three seasons as well.

Personal: Full name is Jayla Scott...She is the daughter of De'Nise Scott and has three siblings, Jazmine Scott, Charles Jacobs and Ashley Jacobs...Was born on Nov. 30, 1994 and majors in biology ...Plans to be a radiologist...Her other interests include music...Chose to come to A&T because of the campus and her teammates...Her favorite book is Homecoming, and her favorite food is chowder and shrimp.
