Competitive pitcher that mixes several speeds and pitches as a part of her game … Continues to improve and has evolved into one of A&T’s top pitchers in the rotation… Versatile player who can help the Aggies in the circle and at the plate…As a hitter in two seasons, she has hit .300 with three doubles, two home runs and a .480 slugging percentage in 49 games played…As a pitcher, she has made 42 appearances with 26 starts and has a 5.29 ERA in 181.1 innings pitched…She has eight career wins with 70 strikeouts and 12 complete games.

2014 Season: Appeared in 20 games and started in 14 as a pitcher … Played in 23 total games as a pitcher/hitter…Posted a 7-9 record as the Aggies ace pitcher … Led A&T with 56 strikeouts and tabbed a team-low 3.90 ERA  in 107.2 innings pitched… Tossed nine complete games … Recorded a season-high six strikeouts in the season-opener against Alabama State on Feb. 15 … Struck out five batters in games against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on March 8, at Norfolk State on March 14,  Elon on April 9 and Bethune-Cookman on April 18  … Hit .308 in 26 at-bats … Recorded eight hits, six runs, two doubles and an RBI … Notched her only multi-hit game when she was 2-for-4 against Alabama State with a double and two runs … Named to the MEAC All-Academic team and is a two-time A&T scholar athlete.

2013 Season: Appeared in 22 games and started in 12 as a pitcher … Posted a 1-14 record with a 7.32 ERA … Tossed three complete games and finished with 14 strikeouts … Earned her only win in an 11-10 victory over UMES on Feb. 24 where she pitched four innings … Struck out a season-high three batters against UNC Wilmington on March 6 … Offensively, May tabbed a .292 batting average in 24 at-bats which included seven hits, two home runs and five RBI … Hit one of her homers in a 4-2 loss to Elon on May 1 where she was 2-for-2 …Hit her second home run in an 8-7 loss to Delaware State on May 9 at the MEAC tournament … Also doubled in a 9-0 win over S.C. State on March 29.

High School: Competed at the varsity level for all four years at Zion Benton Township High… May was named to the all-conference team and was a team MVP as a senior after posting the highest batting average on the team…She was also on the honor roll…Competed in volleyball as well as softball.

Personal: Full name is Janika May…She is the daughter of Gloria and Jackie May…She has four siblings, Jade, Martica, Markel and Pershaun… She was born on Jan. 24, 1994…She is a pre-physical therapy major… Her goal is to become a physical therapist and to work with children…Other interests include music, hanging out and shopping…Says she chose to attend A&T because it’s the best HBCU…Her favorite book is Outsiders, her favorite television show is “Spongebob Squarepants” and her favorite food is pasta.
