CHIT CHAT: The Aggies are coming into Monday night's
game with a three-game winning streak, while the Hornets are on a five-game winning
streak of their own. In two of their
last three games, the Aggies have up large halftime leads, which enabled them
to sustain late runs by their opponents.
A&T had a 17-point first-half lead against Morgan State and a
15-point lead at UMES. They won both contests by double-figures. The Aggies will look to get to a hot start
and create a comfortable cushion again on Monday against the Hornets.
From the Coach
"To me that's the most important thing is making sure
they find a rhythm. The stuff we do and the versatility of our players, those
shots are going to be available, so you want to knock them down."
A&T
head coach Tarrell Robinson after Saturday's 67-55 win at UMES
It's A "Lock": The Aggies are 5-2
when both Tracy King and JaQuayla Berry score in double-digits this
season. The Aggies have won their last
four conference games in which both starters had 10 or more points.
The
Opponent: Delaware State is under first-year head
coach Tamika Louis. The Hornets have won
their last five games, including three on the road at UMES, Bethune-Cookman and
Florida A&M. The Hornets defeated
N.C. Central 58-49 on Saturday. Redshirt
sophomore Tierra Hawkins, the reigning MEAC Rookie of the Year, leads the team
with an average of 18.1 points and 7.4 rebounds this season. She has the third best scoring average in the
conference. Hawkins was named to the preseason
All-MEAC first team. Junior Tasia Bristow is averaging 11.1
points for the Hornets this season.
Potential
Gameday Star Power: North
Carolina A&T: Senior JaQuayla
Berry led the team with 23 points at UMES, including going 10-for-11 from the
