GREENSBORO – The North Carolina A&T bowling team went 4-0 in its baker games on Sunday to cap off the first MEAC meet and home-opener for the 2013-14 season at AMF Lanes.

“Honestly, it was awesome to play at home,” head coach James Williams said. “The support we had on Saturday and today was incredible. To see so many individuals from the community, parents, alumni and former coaches was great. I can't wait to see the crowd at the home tournament in February.”

The Aggies finished with the highest baker pinfall (3583) and second-best total pinfall (7944) behind Bethune-Cookman (8141). A&T posted an overall record of 6-3 during the conference meet.

A&T had its best game against the Wildcats and defeated them 774-698. The Aggies put together an average of 193.5 and rolled a game-high of 232. The Aggies also took down Norfolk State, 711-688, N.C. Central 717-563, and Florida A&M, 738-658. Against the Rattlers, A&T averaged 184.5.

“The difference today was the execution was better,” Williams explained. “They accepted the challenge of getting back on track. We need to continue to improve. This weekend exposed a lot of issues that we didn't see before. We'll work over the next couple of weeks to correct those issues.”

The Aggies will compete at the Virginia Union Invitational beginning on Friday, Nov. 22 in Midlothian, Va.
