Stepped into the national spotlight after a record-breaking season returning punts … Broke two Division I-FCS records his sophomore season after compiling 740 punt return yards in a single season … Also set the FCS national record for average punt return yards per game (61.7) … As he enters his third season, he has 977 punt return yards on 60 returns (16.28 per return) … His 977 career punt return yards puts him 691 yards shy of the national FCS career record … In addition to his exploits on special teams, Gardin is also a valuable part of the Aggies offense … Has 341 career receiving yards with three touchdowns on 13 receptions … Runs the 40-yard dash in 4.43 seconds … Also has a 32-inch vertical jump … Was announced as an A&T signee on Signing Day 2014 (Feb. 5) …Was named a 2016 preseason All-American by Athlon Sports.

2015 Season: Played in 12 games with nine starts at wide receiver … As a punt returner, he had a record-breaking season where he set new national FCS records in single-season punt return yards (740) and punt return yards per game (61.7) … Averaged 23.1 yards per punt return which led the nation and was shy of the single-season FCS record of 26.5 per return which was set by former N.C. A&T punt returner Curtis Deloatch (2001) … Also led the nation in punt returns for touchdowns (3) … Earned first-team All-American honors from the Athletics Directors Association and STATS FCS … Was also selected as a first-team All-MEAC selection as a return specialist … His biggest game of the year came on Oct. 3 at Hampton where he dictated the whole the game through his 203 punt return yards on four returns including a 73-yard punt return for a touchdown in the Aggies 45-31 win … Returned four punts for 167 yards and had an 82-yard touchdown in the Aggies 65-14 homecoming win over Howard … Broke the FCS record in the 2015 Air Force Reserve Celebration Bowl by recording a 74-yard punt return for touchdown within the first 90 seconds of the game … As a receiver, caught a 38-yard touchdown pass from Lamar Raynard at UNC on Sept. 12 … Caught the game-winning touchdown pass with 1:39 remaining in the game as the Aggies defeated S.C. State 9-6 in Orangeburg.

2014 Season: Played in nine games without a start…Missed two games after being injured at Howard on Sept. 27…Made three receptions for 23 yards…Made his first career receptions against Chowan on Sept. 20…Returned 28 punts for 237 yards and an average of 8.5 per return…Had a season-best 51 yard punt return at Howard, which set up a three-yard touchdown pass from Caleb Gabriel to Kwashaun Quick on a trick play…Had 104 yards in punt return yardage against Florida A&M on Oct. 25…His 40-yard punt return against FAMU set up a 1-yard touchdown run by Marquell Cartwright…Gardin also had a 38-yard punt return in the game…Ranked 32nd in the nation in punt return average…Ranked second in the MEAC.

High School: Played his high school football at Freedom under head coach Blair Hardin…As a senior, made 55 receptions for 1,033 yards, 15 touchdowns…Eight of his touchdowns went for 50 yards or more…Also made six interceptions as a defensive back…Set school career records in receptions (143), yards (2,512) and touchdown receptions (32) … Earned News Herald Burke County Player of the Year honors in 2013.
