ORLANDO, Fla. -- The fans spoke loud and clear. The 2014 Walter Payton Achievement Award winners were Alan Cruz from Alabama A&M University, and Quentin Todd (5-9, 200, R-SR, Raleigh, N.C.) from North Carolina A&T State University. The ESPN poll voting opened July 24 for fans to vote.

Todd earned the honor over teammates Denzel Keyes and William Ray Robinson III. Todd has been a valuable special teams player the previous two seasons. The broadcast productions major will compete in 2014 for time at receiver amid a solid group of Aggies route-runners.

A speedster (4.65 40-yard dash) with hops (31-inch vertical), Todd also has an excellent academic history at A&T  — a resume that includes scholar athlete and All-MEAC Academic team honors, as well as a 3.12 GPA.

“Todd will likely step into a larger role during the 2014 season,” Aggies coach Rod Broadway said. “He is a hard worker and dedicated to the role we give him each year.”
