Comes to North Carolina A&T after transferring from Jacksonville University…Per NCAA rules concerning Division I transfers, Hunt did not play during the 2014-15 season…Hunt entered A&T as a sophomore so the talented guard will play for the Aggies for three seasons…Head coach Cy Alexander called him a prized catch for the Aggies program…Gives the Aggies a legitimate local talent that the Greensboro community will want to come out and see.

2014-15 Season: Did not play per NCAA rules.

Jacksonville University: Played one season for the Dolphins…Averaged 4.1 points and shot 39 percent from the field in 30 games played…Had a season-best 19 points and added four rebounds in Jacksonville’s 88-75 win over Trinity Baptist on Dec. 3, 2013…Scored 15 points in 18 minutes played when he returned to the Triad on Nov. 18, 2013 in a 90-83 loss to Wake Forest at Joel Coliseum….Posted 12 points in a Jacksonville win over East Tennessee State on Feb. 20.

High School: Played four varsity seasons under head coach David Price (three years) and Brian Seagraves (1 year)…Averaged 20.0 points, 5.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game as a senior…Named All-Metro 4A Player of the Year as a senior…Also earned all-state, all-district and all-area honors…Graduated in the top-15 of his class and earned the East vs. West Academic award.


Personal: Full name is Sam Hunt…He is the son of Sheila Hunt…Has two siblings…His major is business administration…Enjoys cooking and listening to Drake…Transferred to A&T to be closer to home.
