Star cornerback for the Aggies who heads into the 2019 season as a candidate for conference defensive player of the year … Prefers to be called “Mac” McCain … Has proven to have big-play ability with two career 100-yard interception returns for touchdowns … Uses outstanding anticipation skills to come away with big plays … Earns high marks for his film study throughout the week to get prepared for the opponent … Has earned multiple All-American FCS honors over the first two years of his career … He is one of the most well-known players on the FCS level because of his superb two years on the field thus far for the Aggies for his family’s historic legacy at N.C. A&T and throughout the nation …  His grandfather, the late Franklin McCain, was one of the four N.C. A&T students who were a part of the famous 1960 Woolworth lunch-counter sit-in protest that is credited for starting the modern-day Civil Rights Movement … The historic foursome was later nicknamed the Greensboro Four and are forever shrined in American history and museums throughout the country including the Smithsonian in Washington D.C. … Has built his own legacy at N.C. A&T with two first-team All-MEAC selections, a sophomore All-American nod from Hero Sports … Also has All-American honors from the Associated Press (third team), Phil Steele Magazine and BoxToRow (twice)  … Missed the Aggies final four games of 2018 with a season-ending knee injury … Can cover taller receivers while having the speed to stay with the smaller, faster ones … Runs an impressive 4.38 in the 40-yard dash while boasting a 34-inch vertical, a 94 ½-inch reach and a 9-foot, 11 ½-inch broad jump … In 20 games played in his career, he has 87 tackles (66 unassisted), eight interceptions, 16 pass breakups and 24 pass deflections … Has five weekly honors from the MEAC in his career … Also has 374 career interception return yards for four touchdowns. 

2018 Season: Started all eight games he played in during the season … Made 37 tackles (29 unassisted) with two interceptions, eight pass breakups and 10 pass deflections …Earned first-team All-MEAC honors for the second straight season … Hero Sports named him a sophomore All-American following the season … Had a huge interception in the Aggies 28-23 upset win over East Carolina on Sept. 2 … McCain’s INT was returned 100 yards for a touchdown as it ended a Pirates serious scoring threat … Also made 11 tackles and broke up three passes in the game (10 unassisted) to earn MEAC defensive player of the week honors …  Made five tackles (five unassisted) and broke up a pass in the Aggies 34-6 win at Delaware State on Oct. 6 …  Injured his knee in the first half at Bethune-Cookman on Oct. 20 and did not play the rest of the season.

2017 Season: Started all 12 games at cornerback for N.C. A&T … Made six interceptions and returned three of those picks for touchdowns … Had a game-winning pick-6 in the Aggies upset win over Charlotte on Sept. 16 … Returned an INT 100 yards at Morgan State on Sept. 23 … His interception return yards totaled 274 as he ranked eighth in the nation in INTs per game … Was the second-leading tackler on the team with 50 (37 unassisted) …  His 14 pass defenses ranked him third in the MEAC … Named FCS National Player of the Week by STATS FCS and rookie of the week by the MEAC after intercepting three passes at Morgan State including two INT returns for touchdowns … Was also named defensive player of the Week by the MEAC the same week … Named rookie of the week in the conference after intercepting two passes at Charlotte … Was also named defensive player of the week by the conference the same week after also making eight tackles (four unassisted) against the 49ers … Made a season-high 10 tackles (six unassisted) in the Aggies blowout win over Mars Hill on Sept. 9. 

High School: Compiled 96 tackles over his junior and senior seasons at Dudley … Caused two fumbles and deflected 14 passes in 24 games as a Panther … Earned News-Record All-Area honorable mention honors as a senior.
