SPARTANBURG, S.C. (January 24, 2017) – The North Carolina A&T men's tennis team made their debut Tuesday afternoon at Wofford's Reeves Tennis Center. The Wofford Terriers were able defeat the Aggies 7-0, but the Aggies had some competitive matches against the Southern Conference school.

The most entertaining match of the day came at No. 3 singles where freshman Adair Bartra took Wofford's Parks Schoen to a tiebreaker set. Bartra took the first set 6-3 and nearly had a win in the second set before Schoen outlasted him 6-4. In the tiebreaker set, Schoen took the victory 10-5. The Aggies placed sophomore Nicolas Arduh at the No. 1 singles. He faced off against Haris Poric. Poric defeated Arduh 6-2, 6-1.

Senior Dreshaun Jarmon lost at the No. 2 singles spot to Lucas Cerbelli 6-2, 6-2. Junior John Wilson IV, Freshman Niko Barr and junior Brett Caban lost in No. 4, No. 5 and No.6 singles respectively. The Terriers (2-1) took the double point by sweeping all three matches even tough each one was competitive. Jarmon and Wilson IV put up the biggest fight as they lost to the Wofford duo of Cerbelli and Trevor Gotkowski 6-4.

The Aggie men return to action 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 4 to face Davidson at Davidson.
