One of the most dynamic and accomplished student-athletes on N.C. A&T’s campus … Made a major impact for the Aggies in 2015 before leaving the football program to focus on track and field … Helped the Aggies claim the Black College Football National Championship and the Celebration Bowl in 2015 Has earned numerous accomplishments as an Aggies football player and track and field athlete … Between football and track and field, he has won an amazing four MEAC championships (two football, one indoor, one outdoor) … As a football player, Gabriel has played in 24 games with 29 receptions for 264 yards and two touchdowns … Has also returned 10 kickoffs for 228 yards, and has 12 carries for 61 yards … Has also thrown an 18-yard TD in his career … Completed a fantastic track and field career in 2016-17 where he helped the Aggies men’s track and field team win the indoor and outdoor MEAC track and field championships … For his he competed in more than 150 races and won five MEAC outdoor titles with four coming in the 4x100-meter relay and the other was a 100-meter title won in 2015 … In 2017, he earned All-American honors in the 4x1 after he and his teammates ran the second-fastest time in the NCAA and the eighth-fastest in the world at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships … Finished his track career as a three-time NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round qualifier and a two-time NCAA outdoor championships qualifier … In 2015, he qualified for the East prelims in the 100, 200 and 4x1 … Posted a personal-best 10.18 (w) in the 100m at the 2017 Aggie Invitational … His best non-wind aided time 100m time was the 10.29 he ran to win the 2015 100m MEAC championship … As an indoor runner, he helped his 4x4 teammates win the 2017 MEAC title … Has a personal-best 6.76 in the 60 meters at the Liberty Elite Invitational in 2017 to finish second.
2016 Season: Did not play on team to concentrate on track and field …
2015 Season: Played in 12 games with nine starts … Played a vital and versatile role for the Aggies during their MEAC and Black National Championship runs along with winning the Celebration Bowl because of his world-class speed… Made 17 receptions for 173 yards and two touchdowns … Had seven rushes for 56 yards, returned seven kicks for 165 yards and a touchdown … Finished the season with 394 all-purpose yards … Had a big game against Shaw University on Sept. 5 with three catches for 32 yards and a touchdown … Also returned a kickoff 92 yards in the win … His 34-yard run on a reverse led to a 2-yard Lamar Raynard touchdown in a 27-3 win at Norfolk State on Oct. 10 … His 24-yard touchdown pass from Kwashaun Quick gave the Aggies a 28-0 lead in a game they would win 28-10 at Florida A&M on Oct. 31.
2014 Season: Played in 12 games with one start...Made 12 receptions for 91 yards and rushed for 5 yards on five attempts…Also made eight special teams tackles, which ranked him second on the team…Returned three kicks for 63 yards…Completed all three pass attempts on the season, which all came on trick plays, including a three-yard touchdown pass to Kwashaun Quick at Howard on Sept. 27 in a 38-22 A&T win…In the same game, made a career-high four receptions for 31 yards.
High School: Played three varsity seasons under Chris Martin...Was an All-Cap Eight performer during his career...Named North Carolina All-State in track and field after running a 10.64 in the 100 meters.
