GREENSBORO (March 6, 2018) – North Carolina A&T’s men’s and women’s track and field programs will send three to the 2018 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships, March 9-10, next week in College Station, Texas.
The athletes representing the back-to-back men’s and women’s MEAC track and field indoor champion Aggies are sophomore men’s sprinter Jaylan Mitchell in the 60 meters, junior men’s sprinter Rodney Rowe in the 200m and junior women’s sprinter/hurdler Kayla White in the 60-meter hurdles. Indoor nationals will be held at Gilliam Indoor Stadium and Texas A&M University will serve as the event’s host.
“I am excited for our program,” said Duane Ross, director of track and field programs. “We were hoping for a few more student-athletes to make it, but these three will represent us well. They are training extremely well and they are ready to compete.”
For the second consecutive indoor season, Ross will have three Aggies compete at indoor nationals. The 2018 group are all first-time qualifiers. White and Rowe are conference champions in their respective events.
Mitchell is in a five-way tie for the sixth-fastest time in the 60 at 6.60.
