Had a terrific first season for the Aggies after being highly sought out by the coaching staff for his tremendous athletic ability and excellent defensive skills … Earned first-team All-MEAC honors during his first season in Greensboro … Developed into one of the best defensive shortstops in the conference … Transferred to N.C. A&T out of Daytona State College … Helped the Aggies win their second straight MEAC Southern Division title in 2019. 


2019 Season: Proved to be a disciplined hitter during his first season with the Aggies … Played in and started all 53 games for the Aggies … Batted .328 with 30 RBI, two home runs, 15 doubles and 13 stolen bases … Also posted a .402 on-base percentage and a .436 slugging percentage … In the field, had a .932 fielding percentage making only 15 errors in 204 fielding opportunities … Led the MEAC in assists with 132 … Ranked fourth in the league in fielding doubles plays (23) … Led the Aggies in batting average and hits (64) while ranking seventh and sixth in the MEAC respectively … Ranked fourth in the conference in doubles, fifth in steal attempts (18), ninth in total bases (85) and 10thin total plate appearances (229) … Nationally, ranked 84thin the nation in toughest to strike out fanning only every 9.8 at-bats … Led the team in multiple-hit games (22) and was second multiple-RBI games (7) … At one point in the season, reached bases in 16 straight games (April 3-May 3) and had a season-high eight-game hitting streak (March 16-26) … Went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs scored in a 6-5 win over Savannah State on March 30 at War Memorial Stadium … Went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI in a 5-2 win over eventual MEAC champion Florida A&M … Had a 3-for-4 day with three RBI and a double in a 9-2 win over archrival N.C. Central on May 7. 


2018 Season at Daytona State: Played in 40 games with a .258 batting average, 27 RBI, 10 doubles, 28 runs scored … Also stole six bases and recorded 52 total bases … Pitched five innings during the season where he gave up three earned runs … Had a great season on defense ... In 184 fielding opportunities, he made only five errors for a .973 fielding percentage. 


2017 Season at Daytona State:Played in 38 games with a .233 batting average, 18 RBI, six doubles, 21 runs scored … With 188 total fielding opportunities, made only 16 errors … Went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI in a 10-5 win over Rollins College … Had a 2-for-3 day with three runs scored with a double and two RBI in an 11-8 win over Lake-Sumter State College … Two nights later against Lake-Sumter State College, he went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI in a 13-2 win. 


High School: Attended Winter Haven High School … Was named to the All-County and the FACA All-State teams … Was also named a Polk County Senior All-Star.  


Personal: Full name is Dustin Baber … Majors in sport science and fitness management … Earned a spot on the Dean’s List after his first year in AggieLand … His favorite player is former New York Yankee Derek Jeter.
