GREENSBORO – The North Carolina A&T bowling team announced the release of its 2013-14 schedule which includes 10 tournaments with three of them being in Greensboro.

The Aggies open the season on Oct. 26 at the Hampton Roads Collegiate Bowling Invite in Chesapeake, Va.  The next weekend the squad will host the Alumni versus Underclassmen Exhibition Challenge during Homecoming on Nov. 2.

A&T will open up league play on Nov. 9-10 when it hosts the MEAC Conference Meet #1 at AMF Lanes. The Aggies will hit the road for the next four tournaments which include the Virginia Union Invitational in Midlothian, Va. (Nov. 22-24), MEAC Conference Meet #2  in Daytona Beach, Fla. (Dec. 7-8), Kutztown Invitational in Reading, Pa. (Jan. 24-25) and the Morgan State Invitational in Perry Hall, Md. (Feb. 14-16).

“I’m looking forward to the competiveness of the schedule,” head coach James Williams said. “We’re excited to host a conference meet. The KU Invitational is also a big tournament for us. It’s invitation-only and it’s usually the same 24 teams there which are all pretty good.”

A&T will host its final tournament of the season, the Aggie Master’s Challenge on Feb. 21-23 at AMF Lanes. The Aggies will head to the final MEAC Conference Meet in Durham on Mar. 1-2. A&T will wrap-up the regular season at the Columbia 300 Music City Classic in Smyrna, Tenn.

“The Music City Classic is a great tournament to use in preparation for the conference championship,” Williams said. “Last year, 18 of the top 20 teams were there so the competition is at a higher level.”

The Aggies are hoping to make it to the postseason with their second consecutive appearance at the MEAC championships, Mar. 21-23.
