Nine Aggies Earn Baseball Academic Honors
GREENSBORO – Nine North Carolina A&T baseball players made the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference’s All-Academic team.
Seniors Tyler Boone (6-4, 170, Winston-Salem, N.C., Sports Science and Fitness Management), James Harris (6-1, 170, Henderson, N.C., Graphic Communication Systems), Cameron Jergens (6-3, 210, Sturgis, Mich., Liberal Studies/Interdisciplinary), Stefan Jordan (6-1, 190, Newton, N.C., Broadcast Production), redshirt junior Micah Carmony (6-0, 185, Lakeland, Fla., Economics), juniors Dylan Hipp (5-9, 175, Rutherfordton, N.C., Manufacturing Systems/Motorsports), Brandon Wilkerson (5-8, 185, Charlotte, N.C., Criminal Justice) and sophomores DarAmani Swift (6-4, 210, Oakland, Calif., Computer Science) and Kirby Whicker (6-3, 200, Walkertown, N.C., Criminal Justice) are players representing A&T on the academic team.
Ninety-five student-athletes made the list from the conference’s nine baseball-playing institutions. MEAC sophomore, junior and senior student-athletes with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average as well as transfer student-athletes who have been in residence at the institution for at least one year are eligible for All-Academic accolades.
"I congratulate our baseball student-athletes who have maintained a 3.0 or better grade point average during this academic school year," said Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas. In addition to recognizing the student-athletes achievements, I also applaud the athletic academic support staffs, coaching staffs and all persons who contributed to the academic success of these student-athletes."
