GREENSBORO --  North Carolina A&T senior first baseman Kelvin Freeman was named MEAC Baseball Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. 

Freeman, who leads the conference in home runs, batted .474 (9-for-19) with a double, two home runs, seven RBI and seven runs scored.  He totaled 16 bases and posted a .842 slugging percentage on the week.  He helped the Aggies to an 11-6 victory at Radford on April 24 by batting 3-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI. 

Freeman is fourth in the conference in batting average and leads the MEAC in RBI.  He is hitting .358 with 11 doubles, a triple, 12 home runs and 49 RBI in 45 games this spring.  Freeman was the 2010 MEAC Rookie of the Year and earned second-team All-MEAC honors in 2012. 

He will be looking to lead the Aggies to victory in four games this week. A&T will play at UNC Greensboro on Tuesday at 6 p.m., before hosting Florida A&M in a three-game series from May 4-5.
