GREENSBORO – For the second straight week, the North Carolina A&T football team defeated a Southern Conference school. Also for the second straight week, the Aggies earned individual recognition for doing so.
Redshirt junior left tackle William Ray Robinson III (6-3, 305, Clinton, Md.) earned MEAC Offensive Lineman of the Week honors after the Aggies offense compiled 469 yards of offense without giving up a sack.
Robinson, a preseason second-team All-American, helped the Aggies rush for 181 yards and a touchdown in the Aggies 23-10 over Elon Saturday night at Aggie Stadium. Robinson, who only surrendered one sack last season as the quarterback’s blindside protector, helped A&T quarterback Lewis Kindle comfortably throw for 288 yards and a touchdown. Kindle threw the ball a career-high 38 times and was only hurried twice.
The Aggies will take the week off before hosting the Howard Bison in a nationally-televised ESPNU game on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 7:30 p.m.
