Cohen Gets Another Weekly Recognition
GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T freshman running back Tarik Cohen (5-8, 170, Bunn, N.C.) had another productive afternoon and as a result he earned another MEAC weekly honor.
Cohen rushed for 185 yards and a touchdown on 31 carries to earn MEAC Rookie of the Week honors. It was the second straight week he was named the conference’s rookie of the week and the fourth time in five weeks he has earned a weekly superlative from the MEAC.
Cohen has rushed for 796 yards over the past five weeks. He leads the MEAC in rushing with 102.4 yards per game and he ranks 22nd nationally. He is also in the running for national freshman of the year honors after being named to the Jerry Rice Watch List two weeks ago. Cohen needs 75 yards over the Aggies final two games to become the first freshman in school history to rush for more than 1,000 yards. He would become just the third MEAC freshman to accomplish the feat.
A&T hosts Savannah State at Aggie Stadium, Saturday, Nov. 16 at 1 p.m.
