GREENSBORO – After a six year hiatus, the North Carolina A&T volleyball team will be making an appearance in the MEAC tournament  against a team it has not played in seven years.

In order to advance to the semifinals on Saturday, Nov. 16 the Aggies will have to defeat Howard. The winner of the A&T/HU match will face the winner of the Hampton/Bethune-Cookman match on Saturday at noon. The championship is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 17 at noon and will be streamed live on

The Bison made the most of their 2013 season and tallied 20 wins after going 1-23 last year. Howard has posted the best overall record in the MEAC this season. The Aggies, however, are coming off its best year since the 2007 season when they finished with an overall record of 8-26.

In the southern division, Florida A&M (14-6 overall, 10-0 MEAC) garnered the No. 1 seed. S.C. State (6-21, 5-5) claimed the third seed and BCU (6-26, 5-5) grabbed the fourth seed.

Hampton (16-10, 10-2), the preseason northern favorite seized the No. 1 seed with its only two losses in the conference coming from Coppin State (13-15, 8-4) and Morgan State (12-13, 7-5), who enter the tournament as the second and fourth seeds respectively.
