GREENSBORO – For the second time this season, sophomore Emily Strombeck has been named the MEAC Bowler of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Strombeck was the leading lady for the Aggies (29-10) at the second MEAC meet over the weekend where she helped them post a 3-1 mark on Saturday in traditional games. She tallied the highest pinfall average of 208.5 out of 26 bowlers. She was the only competitor to roll four 200-plus games on Saturday. She tabbed a game-high 215 in a 916-827 win over N.C. Central. She also posted a 211 against No. 20 Florida A&M, a 205 against Bethune-Cookman, and a 203 against No. 15 Norfolk State.
The Aggies closed out the divisional meet on Sunday where they also went 3-1 in baker play. A&T finished the meet with a 6-2 record and is currently second in the MEAC southern division with an 11-5 mark.
The Durham native also received the weekly honor on October 31 following her performance at the Hampton Roads Collegiate Bowling Invitational.
A&T’s next tournament will be the KU Invitational beginning on Jan. 24.
