Aggies Overview: There will be a lot of interest in what happens in Hampton, Va., tonight as the MEAC's second-best team, North Carolina A&T, faces the MEAC's top team, Hampton at the Convocation Center. The Aggies are in search of their 10th straight win to cap off the regular-season finale. The Aggies are 9-3 on the road and haven’t lost a game away from Corbett Sports Center since Jan. 13, a loss to Florida A&M. A&T has defeated NCCU, UMES, Howard, South Carolina State, and Savannah State on the road since then. Recently the Aggies have seen many leaders on offense but their defense will have to stop the Pirates who are averaging 72.6 points per game. No matter what happens tonight, A&T will go into the conference tournament as the No. 2 seed.
Hampton Pirates Scouting Report: Hampton has clinched the No. 1 seed heading into the MEAC Tournament next week as the Pirates will be looking to record their second straight 16-0 mark in the conference on Thursday against the Aggies. Hampton is led by freshman standout Malia Tate-DeFreitas who is averaging 19.1 points per game. She’s also a threat behind the arc with a team-high 67 3-pointers. Senior forward Alyssa Bennett leads HU in rebounds (9.0) and is second in scoring (17.3) followed by senior guard Nicole Hamilton (13.4) who is second in the MEAC in blocks (65). The Pirates are 11-1 when playing at home with their only loss at Convocation Center by American, a 58-46 decision on Dec. 4, 2013.

From the Coach: “We want to know where we measure against the best and Hampton is the face of the MEAC in women’s basketball. We want to go up there and obviously get a win but the biggest thing is to measure ourselves moving forward for the tournament next week.” Head coach Tarrell Robinson
