A&T Garners All-MEAC and All-Academic Honors
ORMOND BEACH, FLA. – North Carolina A&T senior catcher Sabrina Edmonds added another accolade to her career by being named second-team All-MEAC softball, the conference announced on Thursday.
Edmonds, a two-time All-MEAC selection led the Aggies all season offensively. She leads A&T in batting (.351), which also includes a team-high 28 RBI, eight home runs, and a .619 slugging percentage. She was second on the team in hits (34) and scored 18 runs. She recorded seven multi-hit games along with six multi-RBI games. Edmonds also enjoyed a seven-game hitting streak earlier in the season.
The league also announced the All-Academics honorees which included nine Aggies. Sophomore Kimberly Brunson, senior Tranea Jones, senior Tiffany Macklin, sophomore Janika May, senior Dominique Smith, junior Raven Smith, senior Shelby Snyder, senior Haley Snyder, and senior Jax Kaye Woodard were recognized for achieving academic success throughout the 2013-14 year.
MEAC sophomore, junior and senior student-athletes with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average as well as transfer student-athletes who have been in residence at the institution for at least one year are eligible for All-Academic accolades.
