GAINESVILLE, Fla./HIGH POINT (April 1, 2017) – Saturday was short for the North Carolina A&T men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams at the Pepsi Florida Relays. Saturday was centered on relay events, but the relays did not work in the Aggies favor. The women’s sprint medley did not complete their race and women’s 4x100 was disqualified for a rules violation. Sophomore triple jumpers Lasheon Strozier and freshman Anisa Toppin had good showings. Strozier placed fifth in the men’s triple jump with a personal record mark of 51-feet, 3 ¾-inches. Toppin finished 16th in the women’s triple with a leap of 40-feet, ½-inch.

As for the athletes in High Point at the HPU VertKlasse Meeting, the freshmen continued to show promise in their debuts with nearly everyone taking top-10 in their individual events.
