EAST GREENSBORO (October 24, 2018) – The 11th-ranked North Carolina A&T bowling team heads to 2018 national runner-up McKendree University on Friday to compete in the Bearcat Hammer Open in Fairview Heights, Ill. The Aggies got off to a great start last weekend going 11-2 during their season opener.

Friday, 9 a.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m.; Sunday 8 a.m. 

Stepping Up

Sophomore Cameron Strombeck posted the highest scored in traditional team play (241) at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Invitational while bowling in the anchor position. Freshman Pamela Warr led the team in total pinfall at 974 and a 194.8 average while freshman Erika Quesada had the highest average at 197.33 over her three games. Junior Tyra Merritt and sophomore Ana Olaya also had stellar performances.

Quick Note

N.C. A&T may get a rematch against Nebraska who eliminated them during round three of the 2018 NCAA bowling championships who will also be in attendance. The Aggies will not get to see any MEAC foes during this year's Bearcat Hammer Open.


The St. Clair Bowl is located 10 miles west of St. Louis in Fairview Heights, Ill. It is the home of the 2017 NCAA bowling champions McKendree University. Housing 50 lanes in their vast facilities, they are no stranger to hosting events. They were one of the host sites of the USBC 2018 Intercollegiate Team Championship Sectionals.


The event will consist of four of the top-5 National Tenpin Coaches Association nationally-ranked programs including  2018 NCAA national champions Vanderbilt, tournament host (No.2) McKendree, (No. 3) Nebraska and (No. 5) Arkansas State.
