EAST GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T will hold its annual Aggie Fun Fest Day 9 a.m., Saturday, August 24 at N.C. A&T’s BB&T Stadium.
The day will start with an intra-squad scrimmage by the Aggies football team. Fun Fest activities begin at 11 a.m., with giveaways, music and bounce houses. But the stars of the show will be N.C. A&T’s student-athletes and coaches.
Aggies will be introduced to the 2019-20 men’s and women’s golf teams, the 2019 men’s and women’s cross country teams, the 2019 volleyball team and the 2019 football team. The men’s golf team will enter its third year of existence with a lot of excitement this season. In just its fourth year, the women’s golf team has been established as one of the best programs in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) with several tournaments wins to its credit.
The men’s cross country team is coming off its first MEAC title in 36 years, while the women had an impressive third-place finish at MEAC championships last season. The Aggies volleyball team reached the MEAC championship match last season and finished 14-12 overall.
N.C. A&T’s football team won its fourth MEAC title in five years in 2018 and won the Air Force Reserve Celebration Bowl in Atlanta for the third time in four years. The Aggies successful student-athletes will be on hand to sign autographs.
The first event on the schedule for the 2019-20 school year is N.C. A&T's volleyball team playing in the Cristi Curtis Volleyball Invitational at Winthrop University on August 30 against Morehead State (4 p.m.). Four hours later, the cross country teams will run in the Elon Opener at Elon University.
The first home event will take place 6 p.m., Saturday, August 31 at BB&T Stadium when the Aggies football team takes on the Elon Phoenix.
