ROCK HILL, S.C. – North Carolina A&T women’s golfer Xuss Boira finished in the top-15 at the Winthrop Invitational Monday at the par-72 Waterford Golf Club.
As a team, the Aggies finished in ninth place with a two-round score of 627 after shooting a 314 in the first round and a 313 in the second round. USC Upstate won the invitational with an 8-over 584. USC Upstate was followed by Wofford (16-over), Gardner-Webb (22-over), Western Carolina (28-over) and Carson-Newman (31-over).
Wofford’s Becca Earl won on the individual side with a 3-under 141. Boira finished the first round with a 4-over 76 to finish tied for 14th. Boira took two shots off her score in the second round to finish with a two-round score of 6-over 150. Boira led the Aggies with 26 pars while shooting even par on the course’s par-3 holes.
Junior Harriman was tied with Boira after the first round with a 76 of her own. Harriman shot an 8-over 80 in the second round to finish tied for 27th with a two-round 156.
Freshman Jayla Rogers shot a 6-over 78 in the first round to place 24thand shot a 7-over 79 in the second round for a two-round score of 13-over 157 to finish tied for 33rd.
Sophomore Christyn Carr finished the first round in 44thplace with a first-round score of 84. She shot an 83 in the second round to finish the tournament with a 167 for 46th. Freshman
The Aggies take a couple of weeks off before playing in the final competition of 2019 with the SSU Tiger Invitational in Savannah, Ga., from Oct. 28-29.
