EAST GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T junior C’Coriea Foy (6-0, G/F, Fayetteville, N.C.) was named first-team All-State for the second straight year by the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA).
Foy was also named a historically black college or university (HBCU) All-American by BoxToRow.
oy will lead the Aggies into the 2019 MEAC Basketball Championship Tournament at The Scope Arena in Norfolk, Va., as the No. 1 seed and the favorite. The Aggies just completed the program’s first undefeated season in the MEAC by going 16-0 with an 86-52 win over N.C. Central on Thursday.
Foy averaged 13.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.6 steals and 32.2 minutes per game. For the second straight season, Foy led the Aggies in scoring, steals and minutes. Foy was second in the MEAC in total steals (80) and steals per game in 2018-19.
Nationally, she ranked 35th in total steals and steals per game.
Also, in 2018-19, she was 11th in the conference in points per game, 11th in assists per game and 10th in minutes per game. Foy helped the Aggies finish the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference regular season undefeated at 16-0. In doing so, the Aggies won their third MEAC regular-season title in four years. Foy scored in double figures in 23 of the 31 games she played. She scored 20 or more points five times.
Foy has led the Aggies to a MEAC title, two conference regular-season titles, two postseason tournament appearances (one NCAA, one WNIT), a combined 43-21 (.672) overall record and a 31-1 (.969) conference record since transferring to AggieLand from the University of Alabama.
Founded in 2002, the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina. The purpose of the organization is to promote collegiate athletics at all schools. Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina, and whose area of responsibility lies within sports information.
NCCSIA selects all-state teams in the University (Division I) and College (Division II, III, NAIA) divisions for men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, softball and baseball.
