EAST GREENSBORO – The North Carolina A&T volleyball team continues to interact with the university community and the Aggie family at-large ahead of their trip to Italy next spring.
Their latest engagement with Aggie nation was a discussion they had with the Aggie Athletic Foundation, the official fundraising arm of North Carolina A&T Athletics, about their upcoming March 2020 trip. To raise funds and awareness about the trip, the N.C. A&T volleyball coaching staff informed the AAF about the Italy trip at Fat Tuesdays on Thursday, June 27.
Head coach Hal Clifton shared with the audience how the idea came to be and why this trip is a monumental occasion for the team.
"Preeminence 2023 speaks to graduating our students with global credentials through experiences abroad, international studies and domestic and international work experiences,” Clifton said. “This trip will give our young ladies the opportunity to see a side of the world they may never get the chance without this experience."
The event included a silent auction where attendees could leave with team-issued gear as well as courtside seating for the 2019 season.
“The athletics department thanks Fat Tuesdays for providing a venue for our department to showcase one of its programs and also thanks members of the A&T Alumni community for coming out and supporting the volleyball team,” said Eric Hart, N.C. A&T’s executive director of major gifts.
