ST. AUGUSTINE’S Fla. –Freshman Christyn Carr had another top-15 finish as the Aggies finished 11that the Lonnie Barton Invitational played Monday and Tuesday at the par-72, 6,071-yard LPGA International Golf Course.
As a team, the Aggies shot 93-over, 669. Bethune-Cookman won the event by shooting a two-day total of 590 to finish 14-over par. The Wildcats finished ahead of Fairleigh Dickinson (615), Siena College (634), Wagner (639) and Sacred Heart (640) in the top-5.
In her first competition in stroke play since the fall semester, Carr carded an opening day 77 before an 81 on Tuesday put her in a six-way tie for 15thwith Wagner’s Elise Keane and Elizabeth Parsons and Fort Wayne’s Holly Anderson, St. Francis (Pa.)’s Kelsey Patterson and FDU’s Tomita Arejola.
After the first day, Carr’s 5-over 77 had her in a four-way tie for 11thplace. Sophomore Madison Harriman shot an 80 on Monday and an 80 on Tuesday to finish tied for 23rdwith Wagner’s Heather McLean. Harriman was tied for 20thafter the first day.
The other two scores accepted by the Aggies came from junior Jocelyn Andrews who finished 50that 27-over and junior Erica Jackson who finished 37-over. BCU’s Yudika Rodriguez won the event with a 4-under par, 140. FDU’s Nicola Smith was second at 1-under followed by BCU’s Caitlin Evans-Brand (4-over), BCU’s Sumie Francois (5-over) and Sacred Heart’s Ana Conteras (8-over).
