Height: 6-1
Weight: 180
Major: Sports Science
Hometown: Laurinburg, N.C.
Professional Goals: "I want to coach and give back to the
community. I want to teach kids the game of football at a young age, so I can
see them grow up and be successful."
The Student-Athlete: "To me they all
tie into one. I must give both of them my all if I want to be successful at
both.
The evidence for being the BCBSNC
Athlete of the Week: Quick started
at quarterback in the Aggies first game of the season, a 29-13 loss at Coastal
Carolina. The freshman hasn't played much since veteran quarterback Lewis
Kindle returned from suspension. But with Kindle struggling during the first
half of last week's homecoming game against Norfolk State, Quick changed the
dynamic of the game by replacing Kindle to open the second half. Quick led the
Aggies on a touchdown drive by scoring on a 29-yard touchdown run. The Aggies outscored
the Spartans 23-0 in the second half to earn a 30-9 win.
Quick on being named BCBSNC Athlete of the Week: "I look at it as I'm just
playing my role. I go to practice every day and work as hard as I can, so I can
make the team better and so I can make myself better. I've been observing
Kindle because he is a really good player. But when your opportunity comes, you
have to take it."
