GREENSBORO – For the fifth time in six weeks, North Carolina A&T freshman running back Tarik Cohen (5-8, 170, Bunn, N.C.) earned a weekly honor from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

This time, Cohen picked MEAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after rushing for 98 yards and two touchdowns against Savannah State on Saturday. It marks the third time this season, Cohen has earned MEAC Offensive Player of the Week honors. He has been named MEAC Rookie of the Week twice. Cohen’s day against Savannah State included 49 and 7 yard touchdowns. His 49-yarder propelled him over the 1,000-yard mark for the season, making him the first freshman in school history to have a 1,000-yard season.

In the past six weeks, Cohen has rushed for 894 yards and eight touchdowns. He leads the MEAC in rushing with a 102.3 yards per game.  He is also in the running for national freshman of the year honors after being named to the Jerry Rice Watch List two weeks ago

A&T will play its season finale this weekend when they face archrival N.C. Central at Aggie Stadium, 1 p.m., Nov. 23, 2013. The Aggies will honor 19 football players, six trainers and one manager on Senior Day.
