Will finish her career as one of the best jumpers to ever attend North Carolina A&T...She already has two MEC Long Jump Championships to her credit...She has also performed well in the Penn Relays in two consecutive years...The N.C. A&T Athletics Department named her co-Female Academic Athlete of the Year - along with teammate Ariana Betts - after she posted a 3.94 in speech-pathology...

2010-2011 Season: Forbes won her second MEAC Championship in the long jump during the MEAC Championships in May of 2011 with a distance of 20-feet, 4-inches...distance of 6.20 meters at the 2011 MEAC Outdoor Championship...Placed second in the Penn Relays with a leap of 19-feet, 9-inches at the 2011 Penn Relays....Finished second at the Johnson C. Smith Invitational on April 9, 2011 with a long jump of 18-feet, 10-inches...Had a first-place finish at the Friendship & Freedom Games by jumping 19-feet, 7-inches in the long jump.

 2009-2010 Season: Won the Penn Relays in the women’s long jump with  a distance 20-feet, 3 ½ inches …Finished second in the long jump with a distance of 19-feet, 1 ½ inches at the 2010 MEAC Indoor Championship…She won first place in the long jump in the 2010 MEAC Outdoor Championship with a 20-feet, 5-inch distance.

2008-2009 Season (Seton Hall): Won the Big East Championship in the long jump as a member of Seton Hall University..Finished fifth in the ECAC Outdoor Championships in the long jump (19-feet 11 ¾ inches)...Qualified for NCAA Regionals in the long jump with a qualifying mark of 20-feet, 8-inches...Won the long jump with an attempt of 20-feet, 10-inches at the USATF Junior Outdoor Championships held in Bydgosczc, Poland.

High School:  Competed in varsity track and field at Bethel High School, where she was a two-time Nike Outdoor National Champion in the long jump and 4x200 meter relay...Went undefeated her entire senior year in the long jump...Won the long jump championship at the 2007 Penn Relays...Earned the National Scholastic Indoor long jump championship in 2007...Was the State, Regional and District Champion in the long jump...Was the Caribbean Scholastic Invitational long jump champion in 2007.

Personal: Full name is Shakia Forbes...She is a speech-pathology major and enjoys traveling... She is the daughter of Casey and Lila Peele and was born Sept. 8, 1989.
