Completed a superb career where he proved to be durable and reliable competitor for the Aggies as an indoor and outdoor sprinter…Ended his career as one of the best relay runners in school history…Qualified for the NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round all four years as a member of the 400 meter relay team and he qualified for the NCAA National Outdoor Track and Field Championships twice as a 400 meter relay teammate…Qualified for the NCAA East meet three times as an individual with appearances in the 100 and 200…Was a part of 13 first-place relay finishes in his career…He and his 400 meter relay teammates won the MEAC outdoor in 2014, finished second in 2011 and ‘12 and third in 2010…Earned second-team All-MEAC honors in the 100 in 2014 and second-team  all-conference indoor honors in the 60 in 2013…His personal best include, 6.75 in the 60, 10.39 in the 100 and 21.22 in the 200.

2014 Outdoor Season: Competed in nine outdoor meets… Placed second in the 100 at 10.69 at the Aggie Invitational… Helped the 400 meter relay finish first in 40.21 at the Charlotte 49er Classic, first at the Aggie Invitational in  39.86, and third in 40.35 at Penn Relays…Earned first-team All-MEAC honors by finishing first at the MEAC outdoor championships in 40.27…Also earned second-team all-conference honors in the 100 by running a 10.69 at the same meet…His 400 meter relay team also finished first at the Georgia Tech Invitational in 40.21…Qualified for the NCAA East meet  for the fourth time in his career as he competed in the 100 and the 400 meter relay…  Ran a personal best of 10.39 in the 100 at the Aggie Last Chance to qualifying for the East meet…His 400 meter relay team missed making the nationals by one placement as they finished 13th out of 12 qualifying teams.

 

2012-13 Indoor Season: Competed in six indoor meets…Had an excellent JDL College Kick-off Classic...Won his heat in the 60 in 6.85 and then finished second in the final with a time of 6.86 on Dec. 1…On Feb. 1, won his 60 heat at the Hilton Garden Invitational in 6.81 before earning his first career individual win by running a 6.75 in the final…Earned his first all-conference individual honor by placing second in the 60 at the MEAC indoor championships with a time of 6.82.

2013 Outdoor Season: Did not compete and was redshirted.

2011-12 Indoor Season: Competed in four indoor meets…Placed sixth in the in the 300 in 35.07 at the Virginia Tech Invitational … Placed fifth in the 200 at the prestigious New Balance Collegiate Invitational in 22.48 on Feb. 4.

2012 Outdoor Season: Competed in nine outdoor meets…He and his 400 meter relay teammates won the South Carolina Weems Baskin Invitational in 40.75…Four hundred meter relay team also won the International Friendship & Freedom Games held at A&T’s Irwin Belk Track in 40.75 on April 21…At the same meet, placed fourth in the 100 at 10.56…Picked up another all-conference honor in the relays as the 400 meter relay team finished second at the MEAC outdoor championships with a time of 40.23 to earn second-team honors…At the same meet, had fourth-place finish in the 100 (10.61)…Won the 400 meter relay at the Aggie Classic in 40.32…Qualified for the NCAA East meet in the 400 meter relay where the team ran a 40.02 to qualify for NCAA nationals where they ran a 47.80 in the semifinals.

2010-2011 Indoor Season: Competed in five indoor meets…Qualified for the 200 meter final at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational by winning his heat in 21.81…Finished ninth in the final…Placed fifth in the 60 at the MEAC indoor championships in 6.93.

2011 Outdoor Season: Competed in eight outdoor meets…Was a part of the 800 meter relay team that won the Raleigh Relays in 1:25.16 on March 26…Four hundred meter relay team won the International Friendship & Freedom Games at A&T’s Irwin Belk Track in 40.65…Had a second place finish along with his 1600 sprint medley relay teammates at Penn Relays as they finished in 3:29.31…Earned second-team All-MEAC honors as his 400 meter relay team finished second at the MEAC outdoor championships in 40.14…Placed fifth in the 100 at the same meet in 10.48…Qualified for the 100, 200 and 400 meter relay at the NCAA East meet.

2009-10 Indoor Season: Competed in five indoor meets…Ran his first career 60 meter race at the Virginia Tech Invitational where he ran a 6.91 in the preliminary to qualify for the final where he finished sixth in 6.90…Placed second at the ETSU Niswonger Invitational in 6.91 in the 60…At his first MEAC indoor meet, placed seventh in the 60 in 6.96.

2010 Outdoor Season: Competed in seven outdoor meets…Helped his 800 meter relay teammates finish fourth at the Raleigh Relays in 1:24.65 on March 27…Had his first career win when the 800 meter relay team placed first in 1:24.09 at the Aggie Relays on April 3…Was a part of the 400 meter relay team that won the North Carolina A&T Murray Neely Invitational in 40.46…Had major relay success at the Penn Relays where his 400 meter relay team finished third (40.35)…Earned his first all-conference honor when his 400 meter relay team finished third at the MEAC outdoor meet in 40.08 for the third-team honor…Also qualified for his first NCAA regional by reaching the meet as a 100 meter and 400 meter relay participant…The 400 meter relay team qualified for the NCAA nationals by running a 39.64 in the regional…Did not qualify for the NCAA final after running a 40.28.

High School: Competed in varsity track and field for three years at White Oak High School, where he was a three-time 3A state champion.

Personal: Full name is Darryl Williams…He is the son of Debra and Alphonso Oates…Majors in liberal studies.
