GREENSBORO  --  The Aggies first home track and field meet of the season, the International Friendship & Freedom Games, yielded some great results. The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association recently released its week-by-week division I outdoor track and field team rankings, and several North Carolina A&T track and field stars are among the top performers in the country thanks to the IFFG.

The highest ranked Aggie is senior Jarrell Elliott who sits at 12th in the nation in the men's 400 meter dash. Elliott earned his place after an impressive performance at this past weekend's IFFG , where finished second overall with a time of 45.87. Elliott's time not only made the national rankings, the Winston-Salem native also qualified for the Olympic trials and set a new school record in the 400 meter dash.

Joining Elliott on the NCAA Division I nationally ranked list is fellow sprinter Torrance Womack who is ranked 45th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 20.86. Like Elliott, Womack also earned this time at the IFFG, where he finished third overall.

A couple of Aggie relay teams also made the cut after their noteworthy performances at the 2012 Pepsi Florida Relays. The men's 4x100 meter relay team, consisting of Earl House, Darryl Williams, Elliott and Womack rank 25th in the nation with a time of 40.13. Womack and Elliott appear on the list again with House and Darius Bogertey for the Aggies in the men's 4x400 meter relay. This relay team is ranked 28th nationally with a time of 3:08.71.

Jumper Keenan Smith is the only freshman for the Aggies that is on this week's nationally ranked list. The Richmond, Va., native is 35th in the men's triple jump with a distance of 50-feet, 7 ½ inches earned at the IFFG.

These rankings come out less than 24 hours before the Aggies travel to Philadelphia for the Penn Relays, where they will compete amongst the best athletes in the world.
