GAINSEVILLE, Fla./DURHAM – The North Carolina A&T men’s track and field team split the squad over the weekend. A number of athletes traveled to the University of Florida to participate in the Florida Relays, while most of the team competed in the Duke Invitational at Wallace Wade Stadium.

In Florida, Marquis Noble placed third in the long jump with a distance of 23-feet, 6-inches. Desmond Lawrence also had a good showing in what was a very competitive 100 meter completion. Lawrence ran a 10.60 to finish 16th. In Durham, middle  distance runner Christian Harrison did well in the 800 meters.

Harrison ran the 800 meters in 1:50.23 to place third. Teammate Saeed Jones placed seventh in the 800 meter developmental race with a time of 1:57.33.

The Aggies will host their first track meet of the 2013 outdoor season this weekend. The Aggie Invitational starts April 12 at A&T’s Irwin Belk Track. The field events start at 1 p.m., and the first running event starts at 4 p.m. On Saturday, both running and field events begin at 10 a.m.
