GREENSBORO – The North Carolina A&T softball program has announced its 2014 schedule which features three tournaments including the annual Aggie Invitational.

A&T opens the season in Montgomery, Ala., at the Alabama State tournament on Feb. 14-16. Other teams competing in the tournament are Gardner-Webb and Alabama A&M. A&T will return back to Greensboro the following weekend to open its home schedule with the Aggie Invitational on Feb. 21 at the Lady Aggie Softball Complex. The three-day tournament will consist of Morgan State, Maryland Eastern Shore, St. Francis, and Rider University.

After facing Gardner-Webb on the road and hosting crosstown rival UNC Greensboro, A&T will head to Nashville for the Tennessee State tournament beginning on Mar. 7 which includes Saint Louis, and Arkansas Pine-Bluff.

A&T will face Norfolk State, Towson, UNC-Wilmington, and UNCG before starting MEAC play on March 29-30 against S.C. State. A seven-game road trip will greet the Aggies on Apr. 2 beginning with Hampton, the reigning MEAC champion. During that span, A&T will visit Florida A&M and conclude the stretch on Apr. 13 at Savannah State.

The remainder of April features home MEAC action against Bethune-Cookman on Apr. 18-19 and Samford in a non-conference matchup on Apr. 25. The Aggies will visit Western Carolina on Apr. 30 before it closes out the regular-season on May 3-4 at home against rival N.C. Central.

The MEAC Tournament will be held on May 8-10 in Ormond Beach, Fla. The top four teams in each division will qualify to participate in the MEAC tournament.
