DAVIDSON - Improvement from one match to the next is what head coach Hal Clifton is searching for each time his inexperienced volleyball team takes the floor. He received that on Saturday afternoon even though North Carolina A&T endured two losses at the Wildcat Classic played at Davidson College.

The Aggies lost to host Davidson 3-0 (25-14, 8, 9) before being defeated by Coastal Carolina 3-0 (25-10, 16, 16). Sophomore Tatiana Cooper led the Aggies against the Wildcats in the first match with five kills. Against the Chanticleers, sophomore Jeana Daniels had five kills and Cooper added nine digs.

Sophomore setter Chelsea Fox 11 assists in each match on Saturday as she earned all-tournament honors for the second time this season. She was also named all-tournament at the UNCG Invitational in August.

"We played much better today," said Clifton. "Our offense is still struggling because our serve receive broke down. But we had some really good defensive plays and efforts, which was nice to see. It gave us a few opportunities to score in transition."

N.C. A&T returns to Corbett Sports Center on Wednesday to face UNC Greensboro at 6 p.m. "We hope the crowd will be loud," said Clifton.
