Game: North Carolina A&T (13-30, 7-11 MEAC) vs. Virginia Tech Hokies (30-16, 10-14 ACC)

When: Tuesday, May 1 at 5:30 p.m.

Where: English Field, Blacksburg, Va.

Probable Starters (A&T vs Hokies):

LHP Ruben Torrellas (1-3, 7.64) vs. TBD

Must See: A&T will be looking for the one lucky break they've been missing the past couple weeks in Tuesday's tilt against Virginia Tech.  The Aggies have lost nine straight games, and have brought the tying or winning run to the plate in the late innings in seven of those contests. They will be looking to snap that streak and pick up a win on Tuesday.  The Hokies are the first ACC team that the Aggies will face this season.  The Aggies will travel to N.C. State next Tuesday to face the Wolfpack.  A&T will be looking for another strong performance and plenty of innings pitched from Ruben Torrellas,

Virginia Tech Scouting Report:  The Hokies are 30-16 this season and are 10-14 in the ACC.  Redshirt junior Andrew Rash was named a preseason All-American this spring. The Hokies were tabbed to finish fifth of six teams in the ACC Coastal Division.  They returned 16 letterwinners, including six position starters and three starting pitchers, to the 2012 roster. VT is batting .296 as a team with 288 runs scored this season.  They feature two regular starters who are batting over .300.  The Hokies pitching staff holds a team 4.27 ERA, allowing 396 hits in 406.2 innings.  They have walked 169 batters and fanned 364.  They hold opposing teams to a .258 batting average.

Tracking Tendler: Sophomore Luke Tendler, who was named to the preseason All-MEAC team on Feb. 17, is third on the team with a .321 batting average. He leads the team with six home runs and 43 RBI. He has hit safely in his last 16 games, which is the longest hitting streak by a player this season and also marks a career-high for Tendler.  He is batting .422 (27-for-64) with four doubles, two triples, five home runs and 20 RBI in the streak. He will be looking to extend his hitting streak this week.

Tidbits on Torrellas: A&T midweek starter LHP Ruben Torrellas is 1-3 with a 7.64 ERA  (30 ER/35.1 IP) after eight starts this season.  He has struck out 17 batters this season.  He pitched a strong game on March 6 against Campbell, allowing one earned run on six hits in 5.0 innings.  He pitched a season-high 6.0 innings on Feb. 28 and struck out a season-high five batters on Feb. 21 at Elon.  He matched a season-high with 6.0 innings and picked up his first win on the year on April 4 at High Point.

Little Starts off Strong:  Junior outfielder Dairio Little is starting 2012 strong.  He is third on the team with 26 RBI and leads the team with 13 doubles.  He is fifth on the team with a .298 average, and hit safely in 10 games from April 1-14, setting a new team-long streak to that date.  Little batted .317 (13-for-41) with three doubles, five RBI and 10 runs in that span.  He matched a career-high in hits by going 4-for-5 with a double and three RBI on Feb. 29.  In Game 1 on March 3, he went 1-for-3 with three RBI.  Little went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI on March 11.
