GREENSBORO - Freshman designated hitter Brandon Wilkerson of the North Carolina A&T baseball team garnered MEAC Rookie of the Week honors for his performance in five games from April 30-May 6.  It's the second time this season he has won the honor.

Wilkerson (5-8, 175, Charlotte, N.C., Mallard Creek) finished the week with a .353 average (6-for-17) with a triple, three RBI and two runs scored.  He went 5-for-7 with an RBI triple in a doubleheader against Savannah State on Saturday, helping the Aggies to a pair of wins.  He went 3-for-4 with two hits and two RBI in Game 1 of that twinbill.

Wilkerson has been strong offensively for the Aggies this season.  Wilkerson is fourth on the team with a .313 average and leads the team with five triples.  He has 19 RBI on the year as well.  He hit safely in six games from Feb. 24-March 24, batting .400 (8-for-20) with two triples, two walks, two RBI and two runs.  He is currently on a three-game hitting streak entering into Tuesday's contest at No. 17 N.C. State.
