GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T senior Lamont Middleton was named third-team All-MEAC in men's basketball, as announced by the conference on Monday.

Middleton, a 6-foot-3 guard from The Bronx, N.Y., received the all-conference honor for the first time in his two-year stint with the Aggies. He has started in all 31 games for A&T and shares the team lead in scoring at 17.4 points per game.

He has scored in double figures 25 times and has notched a pair of 30-plus games. He needs just three points to become the 28th player in school history to reach 1,000 points. He owns the school's single-season records in free throws made and atempted, and he broke the school's single-game record for free throws made (18) and attempted (21).

Middleton posted a career-high 35 points against Florida A&M on Feb. 8 and tallied 33 points against Longwood where he knocked down a career-high five 3-pointers in the Barclays Center Classic on Nov. 29.

The Aggies (9-22 overall, 5-11 MEAC) will go into the tournament as the No. 9 seed and will open against Howard Tuesday, March 11 at 4 p.m. at the Norfolk Scope.  The Aggies lost to Howard in Washington, D.C., 68-60, on Feb. 3. If the Aggies win, they will play No. 1 seed N.C. Central 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 12 at the Norfolk Scope.
