2014 Season: Played in 37 games with 39 starts …Earned All-MEAc honors for the second straight season and was also named A&T’s MVP … Batted .351 with a .619 slugging percentage, eight home runs and 28 RBI…Led A&T in batting average, slugging percentage, home runs and RBI…Finished fifth in the MEAC in slugging percentage and second in home runs… Was second on the team with 34 hits and scored 18 runs … Tallied seven multi-hit games along with six multi-RBI games … Enjoyed a seven-game hitting streak from March 19 – March 30 …Went 2-for-3 with a home run, double and two RBI in a 10-7 win over Arkansas Pine Bluff on March 8…Batted .439 in MEAC contests… Hit a grand slam against Savannah State and tabbed a season-high four RBI in a loss on April 13… Went 3-for-4 against Florida A&M in an 8-3 win in the first game of a doubleheader on April 5 …. 2013 Season: Started in all 42 games…Earned All-MEAC first-team honors as a junior…Averaged .360 with 23 RBI and six home runs … Also posted a .596 slugging percentage…Recorded the sixth-best batting average in the conference … Led the Aggies in hits (41), doubles (7), and multiple hit games (12) … Ranked sixth in the conference in batting, fourth in slugging percentage and seventh in on-base percentage (.445)… Batted .373 versus right-handers and .417 with two outs in the inning… Tallied a season-high five RBI against FAMU in Game 1, including a two-run home run …Hit home runs against Stony Brook, Kent State, Western Illinois, Norfolk State, UNCG and FAMU … Hit .455 with runners in scoring position … Only struck out 12 times in 114 at-bats … Reached base in 11 consecutive at-bats … Defensively behind the plate she only committed three errors which produced a .978 fielding percentage … She threw out 11 base runners attempting to steal on 38 attempts.
2012 Season: She started in all 43 appearances as a sophomore…Batted .303 (37-for-122) with four doubles and a team-best 11 home runs in 43 starts…Tallied 29 RBI and 19 runs scored…Recorded a .988 fielding percentage, which was the best on the team…Ranked third on the team in batting average, and first in slugging percentage, RBI and home runs…Ranked first in the MEAC in home runs with 11, and third in the MEAC with a .607 slugging percentage…Totaled nine total bases against Liberty on April 10…Went 3-for-4 with a run scored on April 6 at Florida A&M…Went 3-for-4 with 4 RBI and 2 runs with two home runs in Game 2 at Liberty on April 10…Went 3-for-4 with a home run, 3 RBI and a run scored on April 21 in Game 1 against Bethune-Cookman, and followed that with a 3-for-3 with a double performance in Game 2…Went 3-for-4 with a home run, 3 RBI and two runs on April 28 at Presbyterian College… Earned MEAC All-Academic Team honors and MEAC Commissioner’s All-Academic Team honors.
2011 Season: Started in 40 games, and ended the season with a .252 average, with six doubles, three home runs, 13 RBI and 17 runs...She walked five times and struck out 11 times...Had a career-high three RBI on April 5...Had a season-long four-game hitting streak from April 3 to April 9...Her best game was on April 23 against Savannah State when she went 4x5 with two doubles, a home run and three runs.
HIGH SCHOOL CAREER:
Played four varsity softball years at M.L. King High School...In addition to being an excellent softball player, she was also an outstanding student...Edmonds earned all-league during her career...She also earned all-tournament honors in the Stu Penter Tournament...Played on the AFA national 14-and-under team, the ASA 16-and-under national team and she was 18-and-under Colorado Sparkler All-American...Sabrina participated in the National Youth Leadership Forum for high achievement...Edmonds graduated in the top 10 percent of her class.
Full name is Sabrina Le'Shaun Edmonds...She is the daughter of Damion and Lisa Edmonds...She has one sibling, Damion...She is a nursing and psychology major born on June 4, 1992...Friends call her "Brina" ... Favorite softball memory was playing on national television at the Colorado Sparkler Tournament...If she could be on a television show, it would be America's Next Top Model so that she could meet Tyra Banks...Plans to work in the nursing field while trying to obtain her doctorate after graduating from N.C. A&T...Also considered Hampton, St. Louis University and George Mason before choosing Aggieland so she can play with ladies she relates to on a cultural basis...Also enjoys dance and fashion...Plays the game despite challenges with asthma.
