GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T women’s basketball coach Tarrell Robinson was selected to participate in The Center for Coaching Excellence presented by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) in partnership with Columbia University Athletics, set to take place June 9-11 in New York City.

The two-and-a-half-day elite intensive training program which is invitation only is designed to provide women’s basketball coaches with comprehensive leadership development.  The Center for Coaching Excellence will introduce coaches to various aspects of leadership and provide a deeper understanding and appreciation of the importance of ethics and integrity in women’s basketball.

“I'd like to thank the WBCA for selecting me to represent North Carolina A&T State University and the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference at The Center for Coaching Excellence,” Robinson said. “I look forward to learning valuable lessons that will help me become a better leader and representative of this sport. I've heard so many great things about CCE from other head coaches that have attended that I'm anxious to experience it myself.”

The Center for Coaching Excellence combines extensive self-reflection and awareness and organized instruction from a renowned executive coach, with the added benefit of great presentations from some of the most established names in college athletics.  After going through the process of identifying personal strengths and weaknesses, coaches will leave with an increased confidence in their ability to take on the challenges of coaching.  Implementation of this new knowledge by other coaches and attendees will foster a culture inclusive of high integrity, rich ethics and professionalism.

Last year’s session which was a success included over 35 coaches from across the country.

Robinson is 46-17 in two seasons as A&T’s head coach. He led the Aggies to their second straight 20-win season, which also led the team to its second consecutive WNIT appearance this past March. A&T was the 2013-14 MEAC runner-ups, finishing with a 13-3 league record.
