North Carolina A&T Aggies (0-20, 0-1) vs. Bethune-Cookman Wildcats (1-18, 1-1), Florida A&M Rattlers

When: Friday, October 5, 7 p.m., Sunday, October 7, 1 p.m.

Where: Moore Gymnasium

Match Preview: The Aggies will play their first full conference weekend to open October, as they host Bethune-Cookman on Friday evening before welcoming Florida A&M to town Sunday afternoon at 1.  In conference play, A&T competes on Fridays and Sundays.  The Aggies will compete in 10 total conference matches and will work to qualify for the MEAC Tournament, which means they will have to secure a fourth-place finish or better in the Southern Division.  The Aggies nearly defeated the N.C. Central Eagles in a very exciting match on Sept. 28, losing the fifth set by 16-14.  The Aggies will look to stay competitive in their conference slate and to earn a berth into the MEAC Tournament.

Against the MEAC: The Aggies are 122-80 in MEAC competition in program history.  The Aggies are 2-9 in MEAC Southern Division competition under head coach Hal Clifton, who is entering into his second season with the program in 2012.   The Aggies have not been to the MEAC Tournament since 2007, which was also the last year that the Aggies posted a winning record in the MEAC.  Clifton looks to return the Aggies to the Tournament this season.

MEAC Rankings: Senior Andrea Evans is eighth in the conference with a .254 hitting percentage.  Freshmen outside hitters Brooke Stamnes and Aleena McDaniel rank among MEAC leaders in service aces at second place and eighth place, respectively.  Stamnes is averaging 0.49 aces per set while McDaniel is averaging 0.33 aces per set. Freshman libero Ashley Johnson is fifth in the conference with an average of 3.72 digs per set.  The Aggies have played 74 sets this season-third most among the 13 MEAC programs, behind Hampton (82) and UMES (77).
